Franklin Township is charmingly laid-back, focused on enjoying the simple pleasures of life, and spending time with family and friends. It is an agricultural town, and farming is an essential part of its rich heritage. It's not uncommon to see local farmers driving their tractors on the roads, or to have neighbors sharing their freshly grown produce and homemade goods with one another. It is a diverse and inclusive community, with friendly and welcoming residents from all walks of life. The town has a strong sense of community spirit and offers opportunities for residents to come together and socialize, often around shared interests and hobbies. The locals' neighborly spirit creates a sense of belonging and a warm welcome.

 

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Walking down Main Street, you will find a variety of small businesses to explore, ranging from antique shops to family-owned restaurants.  You can find one of New Jerseys' top ranking Italian dishes served at Luca's Restorante, and have you ever feasted on a 50-layer lasagna? The Stage House Tavern is where you can enjoy rustic American fare. There are several entertaining festivals and celebrations held here throughout the year such as, Franklin Day Festival held every September that features food, live music, vendors, and ton of family-friendly activities. In October, visitors and locals enjoy Farmland Fun Days touring farms and learning about the towns agricultural history and partaking in hayrides and pumpkin painting. There's always live music to enjoy thanks to the Music in the Parks Series throughout the summer, featuring local as well as regional artists. These are just a few of the fun things to do and see in Franklin Township.

 

Things to Do

While Franklin Township may be on the smaller side, there are plenty of outdoor activities throughout the year. Both bikes and skateboards are allowed at Middlebush Park that also offers baseball, softball, football, basketball and soccer fields. Naaman Williams Park and Inman Park both feature a lot of the same athletic spaces as well as areas to picnic. There are several hiking and biking trails to keep you fit and busy. Some favorites are Sourland Mountain Preserve Trail and the Six Mile Run Park Trail.
