Chester is made up of two separate municipalities--Chester Borough and Chester Township.  The Borough homes circle the main street area and are often walking distance to the charming center of town.  Main Street has quaint shops as well as places to stop for lunch or dinner.  If it's ice cream you are looking for, Taylor's ice cream has been an icon of the Town.  After a rec baseball or soccer game, you may see the teams gather at DQ.  On Sundays there is a local farmers' market.   All in all Main Street Chester is a very special place.

Most of the Township has 2 acre zoning.  If you are looking for a tranquil lifestyle with a great sense of community, Chester Township may be the answer for you. It is the suburbs at its finest.  The Township offers a number of communities where children can play on the street with other neighborhood children.  Or if you prefer a more private setting, that can easily be found as well.  It is common to pass homes that have stables wit horses grazing outside.

The school system ranks highly in the State.  Students attend West Morris Mendham High School.  The high school is one of the few in this area to offer the International Baccalaureate program.
